Aliens, Flying Saucers, and the Unknown
As long ago as the 1800's, people have been debating about the existence of aliens and their “flying saucers“, or UFOs. After years of research, there hasn't been a proven answer, but there are definitely plenty of opinions. Dictionary.com gives the definition of an Alien as: “A creature from Outer Space“, which is a pretty strange description and shows that the world still isn‘t quite sure if aliens really do exist after all. After doing the research for this project I have come to believe that aliens are definitely real. In this essay, I am going to site a few reports and evidence that has been reported by thousands of people claiming to have seen aliens or UFOs.
Everybody is entitled to their own opinions, but most of the debates have been about whether photos that people have claimed to be of UFO’s or aliens are real or fake. I will show you some examples of what people are sending in. Some photos could be sent in by people dressing up in costume, or by flashing lights in the sky, or even editing their photos with programs like Photoshop to make them look real, so it‘s very hard to tell what is true and what is not. There are even large groups of scientists and other “experts” that spend their life researching alien and UFO reports. But to this day, our US Government has not come out to say once and for all if aliens really do exist, or if any of these reported claims are actually true or not.
So I’d like to share some of the photos I found when I searched for pictures of UFO’s on the internet. This first picture appears to be of four different UFOs, or Unidentified Flying Objects. The photo was taken at Zywieckie Lake, Poland on May 22, 2006 by Robert Morningstar. The photos may look blurry but as you can see they do not look like anything else besides UFOs. Many researchers have analyzed these photos and have determined that they were not edited and even though they are blurry, that is actually what was seen in the sky that day in Poland not too long ago. Robert was not the only person to see that UFO that day, either, so this is thought to be a “true” UFO sighting.
The next photo is of a map of the United States. As you can see the map is covered mostly by many white dots in just about every single town in this country. Each dot represents a reported UFO or alien sighting. Considering how many reports there have been, can all of those people really be lying? And so many of the reports have some of the same details, such as the shape of the UFO or how it moved in the sky. I can see how some people might claim to have seen a UFO just to get attention, but in one case in 2005, over 200 people reported seeing strange objects or lights in the sky over Long Beach Island, New Jersey. That happens to be where I go on vacation every summer, so that story was very interesting to me! For that many people to all report seeing a similar shape in the sky all around the same time, moving in a very strange manner seems to be a definite UFO to me!
Now, I found a TON of pictures on the internet when I ran a simple search for “Aliens”, but this next one really stood out to me because it was so disgusting! The next two pictures below are supposed pictures of an actual alien, taken at a place called “Area 51” in Nevada. Area 51 is a well-known military facility, but it is also supposed to have aliens and UFOs there that have crashed and are being researched secretly there. Again, there are many theories about whether that is true or not, but anyway some of the pictures that were supposed to have been taken there are seen here. These pictures of “real” aliens look a lot like what many people describe when they say they have seen or been abducted by an alien. A small creature that looks kindof human, but that has large black eyes and a big dome head and small nose and mouth. They are sometimes said to be grayish or greenish or brownish in color, and I do not know if or how they communicate. I thought the pictures were interesting because if that is a real alien, that would be pretty cool!
Now, I have seen some very convincing pictures and read very interesting stories, but I have also seen some very, very silly stuff when I did my research. Some photos that people submit are so obviously fake that I thought I would include them here to show the opposing theory that aliens and UFOs do not actually exist. Some say that UFOs are just completely made-up and all reports and pictures are just copies to get attention or just confused people who really just saw an airplane or a star. Others say that they are secret government war planes that we are testing for war and have to keep top-secret from our enemies. Still other people say that aliens are just another species of human that became extinct thousands of years ago but some still exist. Or that they are people in costumes or that pictures of them are just fakes. Looking at some of these pictures, I can kindof agree!
This next one was supposedly taken on July 24th, 2008 by Tae Jin Jeong at the White House in Washington, DC. It appears to show enourmous UFOs flying directly over the White House and people running for their lives on the front steps. This looks like an obvious fake to me, but whoever created it was also very smart to do it with either their camera or their computer, kindof like special effects in a movie or something. The photo itself was published in the newspapers and got a lot of attention at first, but was soon proved to be completely untrue and a hoax.
Now this photo is very pretty, but it is also very fake. It was posted on the cover of the London Sun on April 7th of 2008 with the title “UFO Snapped Over Thames”, referring to the Thames River and the very busy area near it in London. It got a lot of attention because it was taken with a camera phone by a young American student visiting a London carnival. When she looked through her pictures later that night, she thought she had taken pictures of a flying saucer. It turned out it was just one of the rides at the carnival she had just been to, but it still made the front page of the newspaper!
So you see, there are many theories about whether aliens have visited earth in their flying saucers or whether they are studying us or about to attack us or abducting humans for research, etc etc etc. There are far too many theories to even discuss in this essay, but I was very interested in reading all of the strange and sometimes funny stories people have reported over the years. I am still not 100% positive, but I do think that there is life on other planets besides earth. I’m not sure which planet, or if the aliens there have built space-ships that can fly to earth or not, but it seems kindof hard to believe that we are the only “people” in this great big universe. I’m sure that if aliens do exist, they will make contact with us somehow in the near future. I just hope they are friendly!
